Weekending

So this was pretty much us all weekend....

On Friday afternoon, my boss and I held interviews for a new intern - we only interviewed 4 people but boy was that exhausting!! I didn't leave work until 5:30 pm and Stephen was working another late night so once I got back home, I ran over to Homegoods to look for a tray for our coffee table. I wanted one that had a gold rim and preferably a mirror under it. Since Homegoods is amazing, I found one along with another set of the pineapple placemats my mom sent me a month ago for our outdoor table. When I got home, I realized the background color on the new placemats was different than the ones my mom got me - oh well, we'll just alternate them on the table lol As for the coffee table tray, I plan on using the empty vase for fresh flowers when we have company.

Stephen got home around 8:30 and after he ate dinner, we started our weekend binge of LOST. After a few episodes we went to bed.

Saturday morning we were up kind of early and had no agenda so what did we do? We watched like 4 more episodes of LOST... and I made April's monkey bread for breakfast, which was amazing! After we decided to collect ourselves, we headed over to Lowe's in hopes of finding a white paint for the centerpiece for our dining room table. Stephen made an amazing box, I stained it, planned on painting it white and then chipping some of the paint off to expose the stained wood underneath. I couldn't figure out what kind of paint to get (they didn't have white chalkboard paint) so I ended up with a lime wash. Unfortunately, I didn't like the way it looked (I tested it inside the box) and I was too scared to try the whole box so I left it as-is. I'm not big on how the two wood colors don't match but I figured I can always paint it later. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'm so glad I ventured outside of my comfort zone of just plain flowers.

After figuring all of that out, we watched another episode of LOST before prepping dinner. Stephen grilled out amazing steak, ribs and corn! Last time he tried ribs, it wasn't good so this time, he tried my co-worker's recipe and it was delicious!!! It took about 3 hours to get dinner ready so we enjoyed a board game while everything cooked. This was the first time Stephen's grilled since we got our new outdoor table and I couldn't be happier with it.

After dinner, we watched a few more episodes of LOST and called it a night. Sunday we headed to church and then came right home to do a big house clean. All of Stephen's family are coming on Friday for a Mother's Day cookout and since I have to work all this week, I had to get most of everything done this weekend. Thankfully, it all got done and we were able to relax and watch, you guessed it, a few more LOST episodes before taking a lovely evening bike ride.

We only had a few more episodes before finishing season 2 and it was getting juicy so instead of monogramming or booking condos for our Colorado vacation, we finished up season 2... gah, this show is taking over our lives!!! However, after Stephen worked a 60+ hour week, it was nice to just relax and watch some fun TV.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Linking up with Biana.
