Weekending

Monday, March 26, 2018

We had a wonderful weekend that was super productive which is great since we will be at my in-laws for Easter next weekend and then working on the house and nursery the month of April. During work on Friday, a few of my co-workers and I threw a "diapers and desserts" party for one of our co-workers due in April. It turned out really well and Chelsea left with lots of diapers :)

My friend made these adorable elephant cookies and they were delicious!

And our other co-worker is basically a gourmet baker and made these amazing lemon trifles

Later that evening, Stephen and I decided to watch What to Expect When You're Expecting and it was so precious. We saw it when it first came out but man, it definitely hit home now that we're pregnant.

Saturday, we had a leisurely morning before meeting our friends for brunch. We loved getting to catch up with everyone over a delicious meal and I totally failed getting a picture... Once we got home, Stephen got to work on the taxes and I worked on finishing up a big bridal robe order. I didn't have anything planned for dinner so we decided to finally try one of the nearby Mexican restaurants. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as we were hoping and I'm thinking it was more traditional food whereas we wanted Tex Mex. After dinner, Stephen watched Dr. Strange (it was very strange) while I fell asleep and slept through most of the movie.

Sunday, we went to church and since it was Palm Sunday, they had some mini horses there (the 2 horses were cheaper than a donkey ;)). We had to grab a picture with them before heading in since the service had already started so no one was outside. The rest of the day was spent on chores, laundry, more PPE orders and starting to purge my office for the nursery.

It was a wonderful, restful weekend and I hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

We had such a fun weekend at home which was nice for a change, especially since the next few weeks are going to be busy. Friday, we just hung out - went for a walk, ate dinner and watched the Olympics before calling it an early night.

Saturday, I of course can't sleep in anymore so I was up and worked on a few things around the house and pulled out all my winter clothes to put away before our friends came over for a photoshoot. Our good friends got a sweet puppy a few months ago and wanted some pictures taken before she wasn't a puppy anymore. We had so much fun trying to get Daisy to look at the camera and I have to say, she did a great job! They were so sweet and brought over cinnamon rolls so after the pictures, we enjoyed our brunch on the back porch.

After our friends left, we got ready and headed to Target to start our registry! It was so much fun getting our little baby swag bag and walking around with the scanning gun. I was equally excited because they had the glider I was eyeing online in store so we were able to sit in it and confirm it was the one we wanted! After we finished our scanning and running actual errands in the store, we headed over to First Watch for a later lunch. We had so much fun and the food was amazing.

Once we were done with lunch, we ran to Lowes to look at closet organizers and kitchen faucets because ours is broken. We're definitely excited for some house projects coming up - we just need more than a few days to get them all done. One project that is in the works is painting our room, the nursery and possibly the room that Stephen and I will share since we need my office for the nursery. We bought the paint and can't wait to paint our room in a few weeks!

After all the errands, I was pooped and laid on the couch for a few hours before girls night. A few months ago, my friend and I saw Ashley Brooke hosted a DIY shoes girls night and we decided that had to be our next girls night once the holidays were over. We were all finally able to get together Saturday night and were so ready to get our shoe crafting on! I snagged these shoes for $12 and as soon as I walked into Jo Ann's, I knew I had to put beaded pineapples on them. We all had so much fun and everyone's shoes were so creative! I can't wait to wear mine but I'm nervous that all the beads will fall off lol

To make the pineapples, I drew a pineapple on each shoe with a pencil then added clear tacky glue and put the beads on top. I ended up going back and doing a 2nd layer of beads when I got home

Sunday was our day to really get things done around the house which felt really nice to be productive since I come home and don't do anything after work lol

I hope everyone else had a nice and relaxing weekend! Linking up with Biana

Well, I took 0 pictures this weekend #bloggerfail but I feel like a lot happened so I still wanted to do a quick post

  • Stephen finally made it home Friday night after being in CA for 2 weeks - I'm so glad he's back home!
  • While Stephen was gone, I finished watching Season 2 of Victoria. It's a pretty good show but we both agree The Crown is better ;)
  • Saturday was a lazy day for me while Stephen caught up on all the mail from the past 2 weeks. Although, I really should've gotten to work on some onsies for a co-worker and cleaned out the guest room for my mom and sister this weekend...
  • Saturday night, we attended our friends' daughter's 1st birthday party at Gymboree. It was a lot of fun, even though we didn't have a little nugget of our own to chase after - definitely a good learning experience lol
  • Sunday was Super Bowl day!
    • We had a party at a friend's house that afternoon so I brought Jessi's Skinny Taco Dip (which is amazing!) and cole slaw from my SEC cookbook
    • The party was a blast and we had so much delicious food
    • The JT halftime show wasn't superrr memorable but he's such a good performer and I love me a good JT song... even though his outfit was horrible #canibuyconcertticketsnow
    • Speaking of outfits, what the heck was the Patriots coach wearing!?
    • We're so glad the Eagles won... we're over the Patriots #sooverit
  • Um... the other big news of the night was Kylie Jenner had her baby! I'm not a big Kylie fan and I don't understand why she couldn't have acknowledged it was true then just laid low but it's still exciting and the video she shared was sweet
I had to...

Hope everyone had a fun Super Bowl weekend!! Hopefully (fingers crossed) I can get a post or 2 up this week - I had big plans for a Friday post then ran out of time :/

The month of January, we did not have weekend plans - it was glorious. We were able to get a lot of things done around the house and catch up on projects but this also means that life has been "boring" in blog world and I haven't taken any pictures since New Years. However, this weekend was the first weekend I got out and had any real plans. Unfortunately, Stephen was out of town last week and through the weekend so he missed out on our weekend plans but it worked out perfectly because it gave me something fun to do!
All week, I've been working on some Disney shirts for a friend who's going to Disneyland this week. Thankfully, that took up a lot of my time so the week without Stephen passed quickly. Also, this weeks This Is Us had me a big ball of mess and I can't even imagine how emotional the next episode is going to be. I basically need a giant box of tissues because it's going to be a rough one.

Friday night, I met a friend for dinner at a local Thai restaurant and we really enjoyed getting to catch up over delicious food. Saturday, I got some things done around the house before going to meet a family friend for lunch and to give her the Disney shirts. We loved getting to catch up over Chick-fil-a. Afterwards, I headed to my BIL & SIL's house to hang out with my in-laws while they assembled Siena's Christmas gifts. It was so much fun getting to see Siena and it's so crazy to see how quickly she's growing up and talking! I also loved getting all the baby snuggles from Luke who's a little angel.

Sunday, I went to lunch with friends after church, made a Target and Publix run before heading home and getting things done around the house. Thankfully, it was a pretty slow day and I was able to get a few episodes of Victoria in

Life Lately

Monday, December 18, 2017

This week has been filled with so much fun so instead of doing just a weekend recap, I'll share some fun bits of our week. Monday, our nephew was born so Tuesday we took a half day and went to meet him at the hospital. He was so precious and little - we loved getting some one on one time with my BIL & SIL and new baby Luke.

Luke with the things I made him

He's crying because his Aunt has crazy eyes lol

Later that evening, we attended our newlywed ugly Christmas sweater party. Stephen and I finally got to break out our sweaters we bought at Wal-Mart. It was so much fun seeing everyone's sweaters and showing off how ridiculous ours were.

Wednesday during lunch, one of the ladies who is retiring had the whole group over to her house for a traditional Caribbean meal which was quite delicious! I tried ox tail and goat for the first time but I definitely won't be ordering it at a restaurant ;)

Friday was national ugly Christmas sweater day so all the girls (and our boss) wore our sweaters to work. Everyone got the biggest kick out of the reindeer sticking out of mine lol! Definitely a fun way to end the week and spend my last day in the office for the year.

Saturday, we wrapped presents while starting "The Christmas Prince", which ended up being quite cute - Stephen even liked it! After lunch, we headed over to my BIL & SIL's house to spend time with Luke and Siena and while we were there, we also did Christmas gifts.

We got Siena a swimsuit cover up that I added a little "S" to and she was excited to put the shoes on that we got her which are 2 sizes too big lol!!

Stephen's parents got her a toy iPhone and she was loving taking pictures of everyone

After presents, Stephen and I headed to a co-worker's house for a lovely dinner party! It was great company and amazing food - we stayed up way past our bedtime.

Sunday, we relaxed for once, finished up the Christmas Prince movie and I did some embroidery orders. It was a great weekend and I'm ready for this week!! Thursday, Stephen and I will be celebrating our Christmas at home before heading up to Chattanooga to spend time with my family. We're so excited to get up there and see everyone so with that being said, I'm going to take a break from the blog for a little bit and hopefully be back in the New Year!

I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas and New Year surrounded by friends and family :)

We had such a fun weekend and with all our Christmas activities along with the cold weather, we are finally getting into the Christmas mood! Friday night, we hosted #BasicChristmasParty which was a lot of fun. Everyone came over and we ate dinner, drove around the neighborhood to look at lights, made gingerbread houses and played a game. It was a lot of fun and it was a great way to forget about the week's stress and enjoy time with friends.

Elyssa made the best Moscow Mules!

And we celebrated Jeanna's birthday

After dinner, we decided against driving 30 minutes to see the big Christmas light show and just drove around the neighborhood to see the lights. It was fun to see them and Stephen and I checked that one off our list ;)

After lights, it was time for gingerbread houses. Since each couple was going to do their own gingerbread house, Stephen and I decided to get a village kit so we could each have our own houses to do and wouldn't clash on design ideas. Thankfully, it worked out really well and we realized that the smaller houses held up structurally better because our friends' regular houses kept caving in.

I had a lot of leftover herbs from our turkey brine so I used them to decorate the houses

After the houses, we played a new game called Fish Bowl. It was so much fun, even though the boys won ;)

Saturday, we were up bright and early to head to Orlando to attend my SIL's Grandfather's funeral. The mass was beautiful and we're all so sad to see him go.

After the funeral, we got dressed and headed over to Disney for our annual Christmas Disney date. We stopped in MK to get lunch and see the decorations. thankfully, that's all we wanted to see because it was packed.

After MK, we headed over to Epcot to check out their Christmas around the world which was a lot of fun. It was freezing and I underestimated how cold it would actually be - we could've used a few more layers but it definitely helped us get into the Christmas spirit. After walking around the countries, we watched the Candlelight Processional where Kurt Russel read the Christmas story. It was so pretty and they did such a great job.

After the show, we grabbed dinner then headed out. This was a new change of pace for us because we usually stay later in the night but it was so nice to get home, put on a Christmas movie, read in bed and it not be 11 pm.

Sunday, we went to church then I got to work churning out orders. It feels so good to get things checked off my list - almost done for the year!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Only 2 weeks until Christmas (how is that possible!?) Linking up with Biana.
