Weekending

Monday, October 9, 2017

Life unexpectedly got pretty crazy last week, hence the lack of blogging and I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure how consistent I'll be right now. Things are crazy busy and this past week has been a whirlwind.

Tuesday evening, we went to dinner at this interesting bar for a friend's birthday. We had a great time celebrating Josh and getting everyone together to catch up, especially before the crazy began.

Thursday morning, Stephen was gearing up for his last launch of the year and the first launch he was able to get me into. He basically slept all day Wednesday to go in around 9 pm Wednesday night. I came home from work, ate dinner, watched This Is Us and was asleep by 7:30 pm. Since it was an early morning launch, I woke up around midnight in order to get to the bus pickup location. The weather was awful that day (including the past 5 days) so when we were half way to the launch, we were informed it was scrubbed. I headed home and slept until about 8:30 am then woke up to work from home that day. Stephen got home around 7:15 am that morning and slept all day.

The launch was rescheduled for the same time the next morning so once again, we did the crazy sleep schedule. This time, I woke up at 12:45 am and we made it to the office. I got to see Stephen and the control room which was amazing! It was so neat getting to see him in action! We were all waiting for the weather to clear on the roof and got down to T-1:37 (SO CLOSE!) then lightning hit within range so they scrubbed. By the time I got home that morning, I wouldn't have had but 30 minutes to sleep before needed to get up and head into work so I changed and drove into work. It was definitely early but it was nice to get some things done before my morning meetings. After my meetings, I headed home and went to bed.

Another big bummer to the scrub was that it meant Stephen had to miss my company's annual UF customer tailgate event. After my nap, I headed over to Gainesville and pretty much went right to bed.

Saturday morning, I woke up to the news that they had scrubbed for the third time. This time, there was a technical issue. I felt so bad for Stephen and was glad he would be able to get some sleep without me interfering that day. My co-workers and I headed over to campus to get the tailgate ready that morning. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad everything went smoothly and worked out well - we had a great turn out! Since I basically hadn't seen Stephen in 4 days and he didn't have to work Saturday night, I headed home at half time so we could have dinner together and watch a movie.

Sunday, we relaxed and got caught up on things around the house which was so needed. This week, we have some fun plans a few days after work and hopefully, they'll actually launch. I'm really hoping I'll get to attend this one and they'll actually go ;)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Linking up with Biana

It's been one busy week! I've been in Charlotte, NC all week but came home last night... now I just need to get through the work day

One
One of the benefits of business travel to Charlotte has been all of the delicious food! (I swear at some point, I've got to get back into exercising lol!) After flying in on Monday, I ran to Mod Pizza before my meetings and got a delicious pizza... thought I'd only eat half of it but nope; it was all gone.

Then for dinner that night, I went out to Cowfish with some co-workers and had my first Cowfish bento box and it did not disappoint! Now we need one in our area... or maybe not ;)

The next day I snagged a acai bowl and an amazing chopped salad for dinner

Our big customer event for our conference this week was at Hendrick Motor Sport. I'm not going to lie, I could've cared less about going to this place since I'm not into cars or racing but once they took us into the garage, I thought it was so cool! We got to see one of the cars get loaded for a race this weekend in NH. After the garage tour, they took us to see Rick Hendrick's private care collection and oh my word... none of us could believe what we saw. Literally every 001 VIN number Chevy along with multiple other old, restored cars and brand new sports cars. He also had this whole "mini" town replica of places that meant something to him. It was the craziest thing and it was so hard to follow the no photo rule.

My interest was also spiked when I realized his son was the same Ricky that Emily Maynard was with before he passed away from a plane crash. I couldn't believe it but of course, no one knew who I was talking about when I mentioned her... men... lol

After the private tour, we had the most amazing dinner - a delicious salad I forgot to get a picture of, steak and the best sea bass I've ever had and risotto.

After seeing this season's lineup of Dancing with the Stars, I knew I wanted to at least watch the season premier. So far, it looks really good and I'll definitely try to watch the rest of the season! I'm thinking Lindsey Stirling is going to be a top contender this round. Also, who's also super pumped for This is Us starting Tuesday!?!?!?!!?

IT IS THE FIRST DAY OF FALL!!! I am so excited (and have been) for fall but now it's officially here - although let's be real, it won't be "fall" here until January lol Last fall we were so busy I don't think I made 1 fall goodie; I'm going to have to make sure that's not the case this year. One pumpkin recipe that's always a hit, Christina's Pumpkin Dip - every time I make that, people rave about it!

Five
We are super excited because tomorrow, we're having a big Disney day with our friends - who haven't been before!! They're cashing in on our friends and family deal with our passes and we're going all out tomorrow. It's going to be a long day but it'll be a lot of fun :)

If y'all haven't seen, I'm hosting a giveaway over on my Premium Pineapple Instagram Page for my first anniversary!! Also, if you've ordered from me before, post a picture on Instagram and tag us in it for 20% off your next order!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Here we are... first day of September, Labor Day weekend and thus, the first weekend of fall!! This makes me so excited - fall is truly my favorite season but let's be real, it's going to stay hot for quite a while. And to kick off our Labor Day weekend, we are going to Epcot for the first weekend of Food and Wine and then over to MK to see the fall decorations. We are pumped! Time to get into today's 5:

One
So since it's now fall, I ended up picking up this chambray dress from Old Navy yesterday and can't wait to pair it with booties or boots and a scarf. I was hoping to be able to wear it for casual Friday's at work but it's slightly short in the front (I'm 5'10") so I'll just wear it outside of work ;)

I also just saw J Crew restocked the shirt I wanted earlier this year but sold out... Let's see if I end up getting it ;)

Two
This past weekend I tried out 2 new recipes and both turned out delicious! I finally made Jessi's taco dip which was ah-mazing!! I'm now making it for our cookout next weekend :) Also, for our girl's night last weekend, I made a GF dessert because one of our friend's is GF. I made peanut butter cheesecake brownies and they were so delicious - maybe better than regular brownies!

Okay, even though I said I wasn't going to do anymore recap posts, I realized I have 2 more things to recap on... my bad. Stephen's family wanted to celebrate our birthday's and since we had been traveling, we got together a few weeks later; after we moved my BIL & SIL in to their rental in Orlando. Stephen loves Red Robin and since it's a child-friendly place, that's where we decided to go - it was the perfect place to go and we had a lot of fun.

Four
The week after my conference in Napa, CA I hopped on a plane and went to a conference in Nashville, TN. I never blogged about that trip and while it wasn't as grand as Napa, I wanted to make sure it was still captured. Stephen stayed behind for this one because we had just gone to Nashville less than a year ago. I had a great time and for our big customer event, we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame - it was a really neat place but I'm glad I didn't spend any money to go there since I don't listen to country music and didn't know who 3/4 of the people were. Our biggest surprise of the night was after dinner in the rotunda, they had country music writers and singers, Billy Montana and Steve Dean perform their hit songs and tell us stories. It was so neat and such a special thing to get to see.

Five
How many of y'all shopped the Lilly sale? I was staying away until my girlfriends at work had a huge group text about it so I got curious... After sitting in line for over 2 hours, I finally got in to check things out. I almost bought 1 dress but they sold out of my size right before I checked out. I may or may not have picked up a birthday gift for someone though ;)

Lastly, I'm considering offering some pre-orders for these sherpa pull over jackets. I've never done pre-orders before but I wanted to see if anyone is interested! Let me know if you'd be interested in pre-ordering a monogrammed sherpa pullover :)

As another plug for PPE ;) Be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram pages for a fun Christmas announcement today!

I hope everyone has an amazing long weekend!!

Stone Wedding

Wednesday, August 30, 2017

Alright, this should be my last "catch up" post. The last week of July, I headed up to Atlanta for a week long business trip but at the end of the week, I drove up to my parent's house in Chattanooga. The evening I got up there, my dad had a business dinner so my mom and I went to dinner at Public House in downtown Chatt which was a super cool place! We had a great time and then came home to hang out with my dad before bed.

The next day, my mom and I went to get a pedicure and then we met my mom's college friends for lunch. It was great catching up with them and having lunch all together. Afterwards, my mom and I headed over to the mall and I found some great deals. After shopping, we met my dad at a new rolled ice cream place that was across from the mall. We probably shouldn't have eaten ice cream butttt we couldn't pass up the rolled ice cream since New York lol That evening, my dad grilled out and then we just relaxed at the house - my favorite thing :)

Saturday morning, we got up and dropped Frisbee off at the kennel - not before trying to get a cute picture with her but she wasn't having it ;) Then we tried to get a free tube of lipstick from MAC which was an absolute fail... not a fan of the company because they should've planned better. After that fail, we got some fun donuts for breakfast and headed out to Knoxville for our childhood friend's (the one who came with us to HHI) wedding.

It was great because my sister and her boyfriend drove down from Indy for the wedding (we all missed Stephen - he stayed behind because he thought he was going to have to work) so it was great getting to see her again! My mom and I ran to the outlets while everyone else played a round of golf before the wedding. The wedding was so beautiful - the venue was so neat and the bride was so gorgeous! We had to much fun spending time together and celebrating Daniel and Charlsey - we loved seeing everyone and danced the night away.

Too bad my sister wore flats... I look like a giant!

We're just missing Stephen!

We went to bed as soon as we got home because everyone had to wake up early so my parents could drop me off at the airport. It was a great weekend with my family but I was so ready to get back home to Stephen :)

Hilton Head Island Part 2

Thursday, August 10, 2017

I'm back to wrap up our HHI vacation - if you'd like to catch up on the first part of our trip, you can see it here. Picking up on Wednesday, it was Stephen and I's 4th anniversary and my sister was leaving to head back home. We slept in, slowly got ready and then everyone headed out to Crazy Crab for lunch before my parents and sister headed out to the outlet malls and then to the airport.

We found a porch swing and had to get a picture on it

After we got too hot, we headed to the pool while our friends went shark fishing. Once we were done at the pool, we got ready and headed to dinner at a new, trendy place we found. We tried the Lucky Rooster and it was so delicious and had a really cool atmosphere. After dinner, we stopped by South Beach to shop and walk around then we met my parents back at the house and went on a bike ride around the golf course.

Thursday was a pretty low key day. We found an amazing new breakfast spot (I want some of these pancakes SO bad right now) and then went on a bike ride to the Baynard Ruins. Stephen and I were super lazy the rest of the day - we relaxed and went to the pool. That evening, we played some croquet with my parents, got ice cream from Harbour Town and then went out to the beach to enjoy the last of the daylight.

On our last full day, we woke up early and headed out to the beach. We had a full day at the beach then went to dinner with my parents' friends before enjoying one last evening on the beach. We were so sad to leave and didn't want to leave the beach that evening.

And that's a wrap on our vacation for 2017! We spent most of the time relaxing and spending time in the sun. We got some great tans (mine is almost gone :() and were well rested and ready to conquer the rest of our busy month.
