Weekending

Monday, March 26, 2018

We had a wonderful weekend that was super productive which is great since we will be at my in-laws for Easter next weekend and then working on the house and nursery the month of April. During work on Friday, a few of my co-workers and I threw a "diapers and desserts" party for one of our co-workers due in April. It turned out really well and Chelsea left with lots of diapers :)

My friend made these adorable elephant cookies and they were delicious!

And our other co-worker is basically a gourmet baker and made these amazing lemon trifles

Later that evening, Stephen and I decided to watch What to Expect When You're Expecting and it was so precious. We saw it when it first came out but man, it definitely hit home now that we're pregnant.

Saturday, we had a leisurely morning before meeting our friends for brunch. We loved getting to catch up with everyone over a delicious meal and I totally failed getting a picture... Once we got home, Stephen got to work on the taxes and I worked on finishing up a big bridal robe order. I didn't have anything planned for dinner so we decided to finally try one of the nearby Mexican restaurants. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as we were hoping and I'm thinking it was more traditional food whereas we wanted Tex Mex. After dinner, Stephen watched Dr. Strange (it was very strange) while I fell asleep and slept through most of the movie.

Sunday, we went to church and since it was Palm Sunday, they had some mini horses there (the 2 horses were cheaper than a donkey ;)). We had to grab a picture with them before heading in since the service had already started so no one was outside. The rest of the day was spent on chores, laundry, more PPE orders and starting to purge my office for the nursery.

It was a wonderful, restful weekend and I hope everyone else had a great weekend as well!

Five on Friday

Friday, December 1, 2017

Happy December 1st!! I am so excited it's officially December - let the Christmas festivities officially begin!! Tonight, we're kicking things off with a cheese and wine event at the local gardens followed by dinner with some friends and then Saturday we're hitting up Disney and later we have Stephen's Christmas party at the Space Center.

One
Unless you live under a rock, you've heard there's going to be another royal wedding!!!!!!!!!! To say I'm excited is an understatement - I can't wait to watch it! To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Megan #stillkatesnumber1fan but I'm definitely loving all of this royal news and hope they have a wonderful marriage :)

Two
This year was the first year we watched the Rockefeller tree lighting ceremony! I've tried to get Stephen to watch it in the past and he never had any interest except this year he was game because we were there a few months ago #illtakewhaticanget. We didn't see the whole thing but it was pretty cool to watch! Were we the only ones who noticed they lit the tree before the end of the countdown?

Three
My friend made some adorable Christmas baby bibs and blankets to match and we're selling them with an option to add a monogram to them! She did such a great job; now I only wish I had a baby so I could use one lol

Four
I recently got my first pair of block heels and now I'm all about the block heels!! They're so much easier to walk in and more comfortable than regular heels. The weight is distributed a lot better. I was able to wear mine for the first time for an entire day at work - I usually lose my regular heels by lunch. I'm going to wear them for Stephen's party this weekend so it'll be nice with all the walking we'll be doing.

Five
We are super pumped because we ordered our Christmas cards (kind of on a whim) from Amazon Photo because it was so cheap and they had a really cute design - we are pleasantly surprised with the product! They didn't have a lot of special options but for the price, it was fantastic!! I'll share our card once they've been sent out but I wanted to give y'all a heads up in case you still need cards :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with Christmas activities and movies!

Paint Night & Embroidery

Wednesday, November 1, 2017

Today I wanted to share some pictures from our girls night a few weeks ago as well as some recent embroidery projects I've done - just a random post of crafting and fun ;)

A few weeks ago, I got together with some girlfriends to do a painting night at Painting with a Twist. I love the picture that we got to paint and it's currently hanging in one of our hallways :) We had such a fun time and I'm so glad we got to break up the week with a girls night!

I've also been super busy with my embroidery company and thought I'd share a few recent things I've worked on. Next on my list is a bridal party robe order, a couple of pineapple hats and some sweet baby items for my nephew who's on the way! I also need to start thinking about Christmas items to offer - let me know if there's anything you'd like to see or think I should look into!!

Weekending

Monday, October 30, 2017

Really, this blog post should be titled "the weekend we binged watched Stranger Things 2". Thankfully, this was our first and last weekend for a while that we didn't have anything big planned which just so happened to be the same weekend Stranger Things 2 came out... and I'm not even going to pretend that we didn't start it Saturday and finished it Sunday after church. I do have to say, it was really good! Stephen and I were both so into it and think it was probably better than season 1 (although I don't remember too much from Season 1).

Outside of our TV watching, we had a fun little date night on Friday night. We hit up the mall for a bunch of things we needed to get - y'all it got real crazy when Stephen suggested we get another PSL on our way into Target ;) So we did what anyone else would do when you get a PSL and it's cool outside, we took some pictures lol! We spent the rest of the night shopping and finished it up with dinner at Longhorn.

Saturday morning, I woke up super early and headed over to Orlando for the breast cancer 5k with some of my co-workers. It was fun and I'm glad we were able to get in some exercise early in the morning. The rest of the day we watched Stranger Things 2, I embroidered a ton and then watched more episodes before going to bed.

Sunday, we went to church, ran a few more small errands, finished up Stranger Things 2 and finished up another embroidery order. Overall, it was a really nice and relaxing weekend!! We are officially booked through the month of November so it's going to be a really busy, but fun month! Linking up with Biana.

Labor Day Weekending

Tuesday, September 5, 2017

We were so thankful for the long weekend and even though we only had plans on Saturday, we were able to get a ton of things done the rest of the weekend - definitely a labor day on Monday ;) Needless to say, there were a lot of things to get done and we're glad we were at home and able to get them done.

Friday, I worked on some PPE after work, we ate Pub subs for dinner and then watched Baywatch before bed - it ended up being just okay, it was pretty silly.

Saturday, we slept in and before heading to Disney, we stopped by our friends' house to support their kids' lemonade stand to benefit Houston. It was such a cute stand and we loved being able to pop in to see them :) Afterwards, we were off to Epcot for our first Food and Wine Festival visit of the year. It was crowded but we loved getting to try some of the new foods they had this year!

These guys were so good and fun to watch!

I seriously don't know how I grew up in Florida and yet every year, I get weaker and weaker in the heat lol I felt so bad until it got overcast then I was like a whole new person!

Loaded Mac N Cheese

Ahi Tuna

Pot stickers and duck bao bun

Charcuterie in a cone

Salmon BLT sushi

Almost the minute after we got our last dish, it started raining. Thankfully, it wasn't a hard rain so we decided to head over to Magic Kingdom to finish out our evening. We really only wanted to see the fall decorations (okay, that was me), use our 1 fastpass and get a dole whip but once it stopped raining, we decided to hang around for the fireworks. We watched them from the back of the park so we were able to scoot as soon as they were over and not wait in the longest lines ever.

We made a pit stop to the dance party before watching the fireworks ;)

Sunday we went to church and then one of our friends' came by to advice us on my business and the next steps we should take. We were so thankful for his advice and hopefully within the next year, we'll be doing some big things! The rest of the day we worked on getting things done around the house and then started Despicable Me 3 but we didn't get very far before Stephen fell asleep.

Monday, we slept in and then I got to work on a bunch of embroidery items while Stephen did a lot of car work. I finally tried out Sheaffer's recommendation on how to cut a blanket scarf and it worked!! I love how my scarf turned out and wanted to add a monogram that wasn't super prominent... it ended up being hidden because the blacks blended so well lol

Later that afternoon, we scotch-guarded all of our kitchen chairs and then ran out to shoot some pictures for an upcoming milestone for PPE :) Overall, it was a really productive weekend! Now, we're lying in wait to see what this new hurricane is going to do... pray that it goes back into the Atlantic and no one is affected!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as well!! Linking up with Biana
