Weekending

Monday, December 11, 2017

We had such a fun weekend and with all our Christmas activities along with the cold weather, we are finally getting into the Christmas mood! Friday night, we hosted #BasicChristmasParty which was a lot of fun. Everyone came over and we ate dinner, drove around the neighborhood to look at lights, made gingerbread houses and played a game. It was a lot of fun and it was a great way to forget about the week's stress and enjoy time with friends.

Elyssa made the best Moscow Mules!

And we celebrated Jeanna's birthday

After dinner, we decided against driving 30 minutes to see the big Christmas light show and just drove around the neighborhood to see the lights. It was fun to see them and Stephen and I checked that one off our list ;)

After lights, it was time for gingerbread houses. Since each couple was going to do their own gingerbread house, Stephen and I decided to get a village kit so we could each have our own houses to do and wouldn't clash on design ideas. Thankfully, it worked out really well and we realized that the smaller houses held up structurally better because our friends' regular houses kept caving in.

I had a lot of leftover herbs from our turkey brine so I used them to decorate the houses

After the houses, we played a new game called Fish Bowl. It was so much fun, even though the boys won ;)

Saturday, we were up bright and early to head to Orlando to attend my SIL's Grandfather's funeral. The mass was beautiful and we're all so sad to see him go.

After the funeral, we got dressed and headed over to Disney for our annual Christmas Disney date. We stopped in MK to get lunch and see the decorations. thankfully, that's all we wanted to see because it was packed.

After MK, we headed over to Epcot to check out their Christmas around the world which was a lot of fun. It was freezing and I underestimated how cold it would actually be - we could've used a few more layers but it definitely helped us get into the Christmas spirit. After walking around the countries, we watched the Candlelight Processional where Kurt Russel read the Christmas story. It was so pretty and they did such a great job.

After the show, we grabbed dinner then headed out. This was a new change of pace for us because we usually stay later in the night but it was so nice to get home, put on a Christmas movie, read in bed and it not be 11 pm.

Sunday, we went to church then I got to work churning out orders. It feels so good to get things checked off my list - almost done for the year!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Only 2 weeks until Christmas (how is that possible!?) Linking up with Biana.

Baby Sprinkle

Thursday, October 26, 2017

A few weeks ago, my SIL had her baby sprinkle for our sweet nephew who is due to arrive in December. I can hardly believe that we've already celebrated our nephew and he will be here so soon!

Doesn't she look amazing?

The sprinkle was hosted at a delicious and super adorable tea room in downtown Orlando - we had a wonderful time. Thankfully, my parents were in town so my mom was able to attend with me which was special since we usually don't get to go to events like this together :)

Sweet baby boy's Aunts!

Last time I got a picture with my mom and MIL was at my bridal shower over 4 years ago!

It was the perfect sprinkle and we are so excited to have another baby in the family!

We had the best weekend hanging around the house and it was bliss! Friday after work, we had an exciting date night at our local Aldi picking up a few things for dinner and then after we got back, I gave Stephen a haircut - real exciting things ;) After dinner, we finished watching Tangled and headed to bed with no alarm clock set.

We actually slept in for the first time in who knows how long and after seeing an email for 50% off jeans at Old Navy, I ran out to the mall. I didn't end up finding anything but popped into Homegoods afterwards and spotted the perfect bench for our entry way. I've been looking for a bench for our entry for a while now and haven't been able to find the right one. I love the shape of this one and that it's all wood so I don't have to worry about kids putting their shoes all over it. After convincing Stephen it would fit, I brought it home and it looks perfect!

Now, I just need to find some pillows that coordinate well with the ones in the pictures because those are on our chairs on the opposite side of the room. I love floral pillows like this, this and this.

After getting the bench setup, we had lunch and then I cleaned the whole house. It felt so good to have a clean house where I actually cleaned everything and not just a quick vacuum. After cleaning, I painted my nails and watched 3 episodes of Southern Charm before getting ready for the white party.

The white party was in downtown Orlando and was a lot of fun! It was for a great cause and we enjoyed getting to catch up with friends. I loved wearing my new dress and we made it to bed around 2 am that night.

Our alarms came very quickly Sunday morning but we rallied and headed to church. After church, we had lunch with our friends and by the time we finished and ran to Publix, it was after 3. I took a quick nap while Stephen mowed and then got to work on some embroidery and getting ready for the week ahead. It's too bad there's not another day to recover but it was a slow weekend which was much needed

I hope everyone else had a great weekend!! Linking up with Biana

Weekending in South Florida

Monday, June 26, 2017

This past weekend was just what the doctor ordered! Stephen and I have been going 110% lately and it's been stressful. Most of this is our fault from (me) planning too much but this trip came at a good time! Before I get into our trip, Friday, my co-worker an I threw a diapers and desserts party for 2 guys in our group whose wives are due very soon! Y'all. the amount of pregnant people in my group is out of control... we are now at 4 - the girl who threw the party with me is also super pregnant.

Anyways, we wanted to keep things small and simple since it was for guys so we got a conference room at the beginning of lunch, had a few sweet treats, had people bring a pack of diapers for each dad and then let them write funny things on diapers for those late night diaper changes. Y'all, those diapers were hysterical!!! With Stephen's help, I made a diaper cake for each dad and banners with their baby's name. It was a great little party and wasn't too baby shower-y for the guys ;)

My lovely co-host made these funny poop emoji cupcakes

The dad's showed up in legit the exact same shirt - totally not planned

After work, Stephen and I loaded up and headed down to South Florida to visit my BIL, SIL and niece. We thought Siena would be asleep when we got there but we were happy to see she was still awake - although, we totally messed up her sleeping because she was so excited to see us lol We hung out that night, caught up and played with Siena before going to bed. I have to say, at a little over 1.5 years, Siena is so much fun! She talks, understands what you ask and is so much fun to play with; however, everyone seems to say 3 years is the best age so I cannot wait to continue seeing her grow!

Anyways, Saturday we got up and the boys ran to Publix while Lauren, Siena and I hung out at the house. After breakfast, we got ready and headed to their community tennis courts for a quick round of tennis to warm up before the pool. We swam for a little before everyone got hungry and Siena needed a nap. Lauren and I ran out to pick up some BBQ for lunch (thank goodness I finished up the Bikini Series ;)).

Once we finished lunch, I decided to go lay out by the pool while the boys moved around some heavy items. After the boys finished and Siena woke up, they joined me pool side and we had a blast playing the rest of the afternoon. That evening, they had some friends over for a delicious cookout and fun baby time.

Sunday we got up and spent a little time with them before heading home. We had a lot to get caught up on so we skipped church with them so we could get home. Thankfully, I was able to get some orders done, do laundry and get things ready for the week.

I'm hoping this week won't be as stressful but we'll see ;) We're getting ready for our beach vacation this weekend - I can't wait! I hope everyone had a great weekend - linking up with Biana.

Weekending

Monday, December 12, 2016

We were so thankful that Stephen didn't have to work this past weekend! After work on Friday, I decided I need to wrap all of Stephen's Christmas gifts so there's no threat of him finding his surprise gifts. I just love wrapping Christmas gifts and can't wait to finish Stephen's familys gifts later this week. Later that night, we went to a friend's 28th birthday party and then headed home to try to get some sleep for our Disney day.

Saturday, we woke up and headed over to Disney to spend most of the day and buy our season passes. Oh my Lord, it was the most crowded we've ever seen it (and that's saying something). From entering the parking area, it took us 2+ hours to get into the park - 90% of our time there was spent waiting in lines. Even though we only had time to eat lunch, walk around the park once and eat ice cream, it was fun being there again. We'll definitely be getting there earlier next time.

After Disney we headed to one of my regional manager's house for our regional get together party. He usually throws it during November but this year he had to do it in December. Every year this party is so much fun and this year was no exception! I'm so thankful Stephen was able to go with me because I thought I'd be flying solo.

Sunday, our alarms went off wayyy too early but we rallied and made it to church. We got home to find our garage door had broken... so that's fun #homeownerproblems. While Stephen spent the good part of the day watching garage fix-it videos, I was able to spend most of the day embroidering which was so nice! After getting everything almost everything done around the house, we settled in and watched the last part of Christmas Vacation because we fell asleep watching it last week #oldpeoplestatus.

Today, I'm off to Atlanta for a quick business trip. I hate leaving home, especially during Christmas (every night is so valuable) so I'll only be gone a few nights. I will, however, greatly enjoy the fact that I can lay in bed and watch TV without feeling guilty that more things need to be done around the house ;)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Linking up with Biana
