Five on Friday: Happy New Year!

Friday, January 2, 2015

I cannot believe 2015 is already here! Today is my first day back to work in about 2 weeks. It was rough waking up early while Stephen was snug as a bug in bed. Thankfully the weekend starts again at 4:30pm.

One
I'm not too big on new year's resolutions but I saw this and thought it was a pretty good resolution - gotta make sure I write 2015 instead of 2014 on all me stuff now.

Two
On New Years Eve we decided to get out of the house and see a movie. The night before, Stephen wanted to watch Fury and it ended up being super gruesome and rough for us to watch so he let me pick the movie on Wednesday. I've been wanting to see Into the Woods so Stephen was a trooper and agreed to see it. Unfortunately, we did not like it. It wasn't what I thought it was going to be at all but we had a fun time going to see it. Guess we're both not that great at picking out movies.

Three
Our New Year's Eve and day were pretty relaxing. After catching a movie on Wednesday we came home and hung out until midnight. We're such old people but I really enjoyed relaxing with Stephen in the comfort of our home. One year, we'll go to a party. New Years day was spent sleeping in, lounging and making our year in review book. I was trying to cook a formal, southern New Years Day meal but Publix failed us. Couldn't find ham small enough for 2 of us and our turnip greens turned brown too early. Thankfully they did have canned black eyed peas and corn bread.

Four
Stephen and I have decided to make a "yearbook" at the end of every year. Since scrapbooking and printing pictures for albums have become a thing of the past, we wanted to document our year on paper. We bought an 8x8 Shutterfly photobook on Groupon for $10 and I spent a few hours making it yesterday. We love how it turned out and can't wait to get it in the mail! I can't wait to see this tradition continue into the future and show our kids what we were up to before they came along.

Five
Now that it is officially 2015, I can switch my planners out! Stephen surprised me with another May Designs planner and I love it! Can't wait to start filling it in with all the fun events 2015 holds.

  1. I love the shutterfly photo books! I need to start making one for 2014 because they are my favorite way to save photos. Happy new year!
