Weekending

Monday, December 14, 2015

We spent this weekend getting ready for Christmas and enjoying our time together since Stephen had to work last weekend. Friday, we headed over to the mall to get a few presents and I spotted this pineapple at Homegoods and fell in love. Thankfully, my sweet hubby didn't bat an eye and added it to my Christmas gifts. I cannot wait to get this and put it out once the Christmas decorations are put away. After the mall, we ran by Publix and grabbed some sushi for dinner.

Saturday, Stephen made waffles for breakfast while I finally wrote down some of my mom's recipes for my recipe box. Now, I don't have to annoy my mom and ask her to send me the same recipe over and over. After watching a few more Office episodes, we headed out to the 1st of two Christmas parties thrown by Stephen's co-workers. The 1st party was a BBQ at a local park and I got to taste "Santa Maria" style BBQ for the first time and it was delicious! How funny is the giant metal wheelbarrow?

After that party, we went back home and started wrapping all of our family's Christmas gifts. Later that night, it was time for another co-worker's party who happens to live a few houses down. We had a great time and enjoyed meeting some more of our neighbors. (BTW, I failed at taking pictures this weekend)

Sunday, we went to church, out to lunch with friends and then to Publix. After getting home and finishing up some chores and wrapping the gifts, we watched It's a Wonderful Life. We love this movie - funny story, my mom HATES this movie since he's so mean to everyone in the beginning but my dad loves it so we would always watch it together. Stephen had never seen it before so I made him watch it our first married Christmas and he LOVED it. We always love watching this movie together but we have to have the tissues ready because the ending is so sweet. After the movie, we broke out a Hickory Farms kit we got last weekend and did some more cleaning.

Today is my group's big annual Christmas brunch at work and so last night I made mini monkey breads. I also made some White Trash for the group I do marketing for.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

  5. OMG I saw that exact pineapple at Homegoods. When I saw the picture, I was like that looks just like it and then I read your was and was like oh, I got it. I didn't leave with it (I wanted to so bad) bc it's kind of large and we just don't have a spot for it in our apartment. I'm glad your hubby got it for you though
