After writing this post, I noticed it's taken more of a workout/hip hop vibe and has minimal pictures so bear with me...
One
I've come to the conclusion that the only way I'll be able to get a consistently good workout is to do some type of hip hop cardio. That's really how I lost and kept off most of my weight during college because UCF had an amazing hip hop cardio class at the gym. Since I moved an hour away from college and I no longer get a free membership, I haven't been working out regularly and now I can tell... I found these hip hop cardio workout videos on Youtube earlier this week and I've been obsessed. They're so good and I've been getting an amazing workout doing them. Hopefully I'll be diligent about my workouts now - there is something to be said about having fun while burning calories.

During our lunch workouts, we started to listen to some music so the workouts were more fun but we had a hard time finding a good playlist. I decided to make a Missy Elliot playlist on Pandora and oh my goodness, it's amazing!! Every time I listen to it, I can't stop moving!

My mom has been using 2 different smoothie recipes and she said the fat has been melting off! I've decided to give it a try and see what happens. If it works for me, I'll definitely share the recipes!! In the meantime, here are a few smoothie recipes I pinned (but haven't tried) on Pinterest here, here & here.

And this is totally ruining my healthy post but April posted this delicious looking monkey bread recipe that I plan on making tomorrow morning for breakfast.

Right now, we have no plans for this weekend and I'm so excited! I do have to finish painting my centerpiece for the kitchen table and get a head start on cleaning for next week. If the weather is nice, maybe we'll head to the beach or take a long bike ride... or maybe we'll just stay inside and binge watch LOST all weekend lol
Thursday Funnies
Thursday, April 28, 2016
I had all the intentions of writing a blog post last night but then I left work 30 min late, got home, did 8 min abs, showered and before I knew it, it was 7:00!! Where the heck does the time go!? And of course, we're obsessed with LOST right now so we NEED to get a few episodes in tonight ;)
So instead of a regular blog post, I'm going to share some funnies that helped get me through some of my 3 hour engineering classes ;)
I hope they put a smile on your face! (That, and it's almost Friday!!)

Breakfast for Dinner
Wednesday, April 27, 2016
A few weeks ago, I couldn't decide what to make for dinner and stumbled upon this breakfast casserole and decided to make that for dinner. Since it was a dinner item and we had extra veggies, I decided to add some tomatoes, onions, asparagus, spinach and cheese along with the recipe's eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. For me, it turned out surprisingly pretty well!!
It was an easy recipe and turned out really well, although I probably would've added broccoli instead of the asparagus.
Ingredients:
- 8 large eggs
- 1/3 cup of milk
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/2 a bag of grated hashbrowns
- Bacon slices
- Optional veggies: onions, asparagus, tomatoes, spinach
Directions:
1. Cook bacon (I love cooking it in the oven now) and roast your asparagus
2. Beat together the eggs and milk. Add the veggies, cheese, hashbrowns and bacon into the egg mixture. Pour mixture into a pie dish sprayed with non-stick spray.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

We had a fantastic weekend and I'm not ready for it to be over! We were super productive yet we were able to relax a little (maybe more, I was able to relax a little ;))
After work on Friday, Stephen met me at my office in Orlando because we had dinner that night with his little brother to meet his new girlfriend. Since we had a few hours to kill, I drug him over to the mall to start looking at formal dresses for our upcoming gala. I figured Dillards would have a great selection but that one was a huge bust. After being unsuccessful at the mall, we headed over to the restaurant and waited to meet my BIL for dinner. We didn't end up having dinner until late which made the hour drive home rough... Thankfully we made it home safely but I couldn't wait to hit the hay.
Saturday, we slept in, I started tidying up the house, Stephen made pancakes for breakfast then we loaded up and headed to the outlet mall. We had a laundry list of things we needed to find and we pretty much found them all. We still couldn't find a formal dress that I liked/looked good on me in the price range we wanted so we headed over to Macy's. We were both starting to get a little worried that I wouldn't be able to find one but Macy's was killing it!! They had SO many beautiful dresses! Thankfully, I was able to find one and we both love it!! I can't wait to wear it!
After Macy's we rushed home and I did a mad dash to clean the house while Stephen got started on dinner. One of our friends' husbands was traveling so we had her over for dinner that night. We were so excited to host our first dinner outside! The weather was beautiful all day and dinner was no exception.
Sunday we headed to church and then did our usual - Publix, I made lunch, Stephen mowed and I got started on laundry. On Friday, Stephen made me a big box for the kitchen table and I decided to stain it. It turned out really well but I think the "dark wood" on "dark wood" look might be a bit too much so depending on what it looks like on the table, I'll probably paint it white and then chip some paint away so you can see the dark wood underneath it.
Stephen also finished fixing up our bikes!! He has gotten so handy since we moved into the house and I love getting to see him tinker around with things. He did an amazing job and once it cooled down, we took them out for a spin! Can't wait to finally head down to the trails we've been eyeing since we moved in.
I hope everyone else had a great weekend!! Linking up with Biana.

I got so excited to see our first bloom of the season on our magnolia tree!!

One
I am so tickled because I am currently writing this post on our new patio table set!! I am so glad we finally bit the bullet and ordered a table set for our back porch - I mean, our screen has been done for a few months... Thankfully, the weather is still amazeballs in the evening so we've had dinner al fresco the past 2 nights. We ended up getting this table from Target and right now, it's about $60 cheaper than when we bought it #gofigure. We love that it's aluminum and wood composite so it shouldn't deteriorate or rust as quick and it's super durable. We also love that it fits 8 people at the table which is perfect because there are 4 couples in Stephen's family ;)

Now that we've got the table outside, I want to add a little centerpiece to it. I was thinking about getting this pineapple jar and adding two other little things with it but after grabbing a lantern and little greenery vase from Hobby Lobby (both 50% off!) I'm thinking that might be all we need. My mom's also looking for 4 more pineapple placemats for us since she sent us a 4 pack and we have 8 seats.
Four
Yesterday we found out that through Stephen's work, we are invited to a gala at the Kennedy Space Center!! I am SOO excited to dress up and go to a formal event! With that being said, I've got to get a formal dress. I'm going to go look at a few stores but I'm considering Rent the Runway as a backup option. Before getting down to the wire and having to make a quick decision, I figured I'd get y'alls opinion on that service. If you've used it, how was your experience? I'm worried about getting a dress and it not fitting right then being without an option and out some money.

Not sure who all saw on Wednesday but one of my favorite bloggers, Jessica, had all of her pictures stolen and someone was pretending to have her life on social media. It's so crazy to think there's sickos like that out there... I always think of this place as a fun and creative outlet where I can make connections with sweet girls; I never really think of the dark side of blogging and social media until things like this happen. It definitely makes me think twice about continuing on with this once we have kids...

With the continuation of my pineapple obsession, Hobby Lobby has 40% off their spring collection which meant the pineapple serving platter I was eyeing a few weeks ago was all mine ;) Can't wait to bring it out for cookouts and summer parties!

Phew! I cannot believe it's Wednesday and I'm finally getting around to blogging about our weekend. Needless to say, things have been crazy at work and the to-do list never seems to end at home so I've put blogging on the back burner. I hate that I haven't even gotten to read through all of my regular blogs!
Even though the past two days have been crazy, we had an amazing weekend. The whole time we kept saying how much we were enjoying the weekend together! Friday was super low key which was amazing - after Stephen came home from work we relaxed and watched LOST all evening. It was perfect and just what we needed, especially with the awful weather we had that night.
Saturday, our neighborhood had their big garage sale and we drove down a street and called it a day... apparently Stephen wasn't willing to buy anything anyways #whatsthepointofgoingthen? We quickly headed over to the local zoo because Stephen's company was hosting family day. For $5 we got into the zoo, was fed lunch and got to take a kayaking tour! I could not believe how much we enjoyed the zoo and how much fun we had!! It was so nice walking around at our own pace, laughing at some of the animals and talking about how we can't wait to get year passes once we have kids.
The main thing I wanted to do at the zoo was feed the giraffes - I've never gotten to do it before! We waited for them to be released and got to see the new babies run around in excitement. I ended up feeding them 2 different times and it was so cool; I'll definitely be doing that again!
After the zoo we headed to pick up our remaining two kitchen chairs but one was damaged so now we're one chair short instead of two. We also took advantage of Old Navy's $5 athletic shorts sale - Stephen got 3 pairs and I got this one and this one. After the mall, we headed over to Publix to grocery shop for the week - before shopping, we stopped into a new ice cream shop next door and it was delicious! We literally watched LOST the rest of the night after Stephen mowed and while I did laundry.
Sunday we woke up and headed down to Stephen's parents for his dad's 35th anniversary recognition dinner. We wanted to attend church there that morning and made it just in time for the last service. After, we went back to their house for brunch and relaxing before heading back out. The church members decorated their fellowship hall so nicely and everyone was waiting for us to arrive with a warm welcome. It was so neat to hear some of his pastor friends give speeches about him and have my in-laws honored for all of their hard work and dedication to the church. We headed home quickly after and made it just in time to take a shower and go to sleep.
While at my in-laws, we did take home their old bikes. They're super rusty and a few parts need to be replaced but other than that, they should be usable. Let me know if anyone has any experience with fixing up bikes!

The kangaroos had us laughing because they were straight chillin! There was also one with a Joey in her pouch and we got a teeny glimpse when she'd put her head in her pouch to clean him.

Five on Friday!
Friday, April 15, 2016
Congratulations, we've made it another week!! These weeks seem to go by faster and faster - if only we could figure out how to get the weekend to slow down ;)
Speaking of which, we've got a pretty busy weekend ahead of us - Friday we will probably just watch LOST on the couch all night but Saturday morning, our community is having their semi-annual garage sale and we need some bikes!! After, Stephen's company is having family day at the zoo down the street - I can't wait to go! Sunday, we're headed back down to Stephen's parents for his dad's 35th ministry anniversary dinner. Now onto my five...
One
Last weekend, we finally got our butts into gear and ordered our patio furniture! We've had our back porch screened in for a few months now but haven't gotten to truly enjoy it since we don't have furniture out there. Stephen's family is coming over for an early Mother's Day cookout in a few weeks and we realized we needed to get moving and order a table. I cannot wait to enjoy Stephen's grilling out on the back porch. It's supposed to be delivered on Wednesday - too bad I can't convince Stephen to get a ceiling fan by then ;)

With the addition of our rocking chairs and now our patio table, I wanted to get a few spring-y outdoor pillows to jazz up the space. I found the perfect outdoor pillows at Jo-anns on sale for $10 so I snagged 2 of them. When I showed them to Stephen, he wanted to see what they looked like in our new living room chairs. Well, he did a great job and we both like them in the living room... go figure. So do we leave them in the living room and get new ones for outside or do we use them outside?

We all know that Caila had the best hair on the Bachelorette this past season, so when she shared this article on her hair secrets, I was all ears. She talked about using Aussie's Three Minute Miracle deep conditioner, so I had to try it. I can really see a difference in how soft and more smooth my hair looks after using it! I'm trying to only use it twice a week so I don't over do it .
I also needed some new dry shampoo and after my current dry shampoo wasn't cutting it, I decided to try a new brand. I decided to try Herbal Essences Naked dry shampoo and I love it!! What really got me was that it doesn't have any parabens in it. It works like a charm - no white residue in my hair and my hair doesn't look greasy after using it (isn't that the whole purpose of dry shampoo? Tell my old brand that ;))

Stephen came home the other day with a virtual reality cardboard headset that his company handed out. It's super cool - you put your phone inside and can watch a Delta IV launch. It's crazy because you can look around (I think a full 360 degrees) and it really feels like you're there!!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

My Mud Pie sale shipment came in the mail and I'm really happy with the items I bought!! I also just checked the prices and they went up over half since I bought them! Holla! Anyways, I bought a new swim suit coverup (I'm thinking of monogramming the bottom) and a tunic which I thought would be perfect for our upcoming CO trip.
I feel like it's a little long.. not sure if I'll be able to tuck it in
