Weekending

Before I get into our weekend, I have to share that starting today, I am hosting a Spring giveaway over on my business's Instagram page! Be sure to swing by and enter for your chance to win a monogrammed hat!

We were so excited about this weekend because it was the first weekend Stephen didn't have to work in weeks, maybe months (he even worked most of the time we were in Charleston). We really wanted to go to Disney but we both had a lot of work to catch up on so we decided to lay low this weekend and get things done.

Friday night we had supper club which was a blast! We had a great time catching up and enjoyed walking down to the DQ in Cocoa Beach for ice cream after dinner. We decided to sleep in the next day and it was glorious! I woke up before Stephen and finished watched Allied since I didn't get to finish it on my flight home - I thought it was a really good movie that had you guessing until the end! The rest of Saturday, I worked on PPE orders while Stephen finished up our taxes [bless him]. Later in the evening, I ran some errands - I decided to return the pineapple painting I bought for our bathroom. I decided it didn't match and I'd rather spend a little more money for something that actually matched everything.

I finally remembered to put out our Easter flag

We are loving the time change - Stephen had time to grill out that night and he did a great job! We can't wait for more nights out on the back porch. After dinner, we settled in for a movie which I can't tell you the last time we watched a movie #worklife #downtownabbeyconsumedourlives We saw Passangers and thought it was a really good movie!

Sunday, we did the usual and ran out of time to finish everything (what else is new?). We went to church, Publix, I did laundry, did some more embroidery, we went for a bike ride and I cut Stephen's hair. Thank goodness for that extra hour of sunlight ;)

We are so thankful for a restful, productive weekend. This week, I'm starting the Tone It Up 7 day slim down... I'm ready to lose those extra few pounds I've gained since the wedding!

It's been almost 2 weeks but I am back!! We've been doing lots of traveling the past few days - Charleston for a long weekend this past weekend and then the next morning after getting home, I flew out to Alexandria, LA for a power plant trip. I got home late Wednesday night and am so ready to get back to normal life - especially the healthy part of normal life. I am so tired of not eating healthy food and not working out.

One
Last Thursday we headed to Charleston for the weekend. One of Stephen's best friends was getting married that Saturday. It worked out perfectly with being able to see friends and being able to sight-see. So thankful they got married in my favorite city ;) I will do a full recap next week!

I did have a complete fan girl moment when we parked the car and I looked over and saw Julia and Thomas literally next to our car taking pictures! I freaked and ran over to say hi - I made it awkward because I didn't know what to say other than I love their stuff lol! They were so sweet and now I'm regretting not asking for a photo. Trip.Made.

So yeah, this dress was perfect until it continued to catch an updraft from the wind... not my best moments lol

Two
Thursday, I spent most of my day browsing stores on King Street while Stephen was with the guys. I stumbled upon The OOPS! Co and was shocked to find perfectly fine Vineyard Vines clothes for cheap! I couldn't not get this adorable pull over for $40 - it retails for $125 and is on sale at Belk for $86.

Sorry for the awk face lol

I've also been looking for a cute, structured off-the-shoulder top and have only been able to find them for $30+ which makes it hard for me to justify. I was so excited when I found a shirt at H&M and the price wasn't too bad. I ended up wearing it to dinner on our last night and loved it - Stephen even liked it too! I was able to find a pink version for only $13!!! I'm slightly annoyed I didn't see that in the store. I tried finding the one I got online but for some reason couldn't. It's exactly like the pink one, just navy and double the price - go buy the pink one right now! I also love this shirt if you don't like the off-the-shoulder look.

I also bought a button down tank top for only $10 which I thought would be perfect for summer nights! Unfortunately, I couldn't find that one online either :/

We got home from Charleston and the next morning, I turned around and hopped on a place for Louisiana. I've never been to LA before so this was a whole new experience. It was a good trip and for lunch one day, my customer took me to a genuine LA restaurant. Since I can't eat shellfish, I had to order the next best thing for LA - fried catfish. It was surprisingly really good and the sweet potato fries were to die for!

Four
Some other fun work updates: last Monday was national Oreo day so we celebrated with all sorts of different types of Oreos! It was so much fun and everyone enjoyed the afternoon pick-me-up. One of the girls beat everyone and had 22 Oreos!

After getting back from my trip yesterday, I had a fun surprise on my desk - our newest brochures were delivered! These pictures taken last year when I went to Pittsburgh and I'm so glad they're finally done. I had to share the parts of the brochure I made it in... I really look like I know what I'm doing ;)

I am so excited to announce my first giveaway for PPE on Instagram for the first day of Spring! The giveaway will be announced and go live on Monday (March 20 - the first day of Spring) and run through Friday. Since I'm still figuring this giveaway thing out, I will only be hosting it on Instagram so be sure to follow Premium Pineapple Embroidery on Instagram for your chance to win!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! We are looking forward to Supper Club tonight and maybe a trip to Disney tomorrow... if Stephen doesn't have to work.

This weekend was pretty blah, especially when it comes to blogging about it but man, I was productive! Stephen had to work the whole weekend so I ended up checking off some pretty big things from my to-do list which feels amazing. I always hate it when he works but I love how productive I am when he's gone ;)

First off, I had to laugh because we had girls night on Thursday with some girls from the church and one of them brought henna. She is Indian and does this for various events - she's really good. It was so much fun getting my first henna tattoo - I'm still thrown off when I see it on my arm.

Mine is the circle one in the bottom right corner

Friday after work, I met up with my two BIL's and my SIL to celebrate my SIL's birthday. Unfortunately, Stephen couldn't make it because of work but we had a great time catching up. We ate at the new Whalburgers restaurant which was delicious then finished the night with bowling. I had to laugh when I got home because I noticed a lot of people seemed to go bowling on Friday on Snapchat.

Saturday, I slept in quite late then got ready and ran some errands. It was so nice, I took my time shopping and stayed out for quite some time - unfortunately, I didn't get much. If you saw on Snapchat, Stephen did approve my pineapple painting I picked up from Homegoods - I'll share that once we get it hung up. Once I got home, I got to work on finally painting our corn hole set we made at Christmas. I got the first coats done before ironing and making dinner while waiting on Stephen to come home. We went to bed pretty early Saturday night since Stephen was so tired from a long day of work.

Sunday Stephen had to go back into work so I got up with him and was able to accomplish so much in the morning. I ironed, listened to a sermon online, got a small workout in, finished 2 orders, did the laundry, vacuumed and finished up our corn hole boards. I was happy that Stephen got home late afternoon instead of late that night so he helped me paint the corn hole boards and we finally got to spend some time together. We love how the boards turned out and are so glad they're finally done!

Matching mother daughter hats

I'll get a better picture once they're dried

Like I said, it was a pretty boring weekend but so necessary and rewarding! I'll be off blogging for a little while after this - we're going to Charleston on Thursday for a wedding (send any recommendations my way!) and then the following Monday, I'm off to Louisiana for a business trip.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! Linking up with Biana.

One
First and foremost, I have to say Happy March!! I love the month of March, I just feel like it kicks off all things bright and colorful and the cold is gone from Florida (it's actually been quite hot lately).

Anyways, I'm pleased to say that I jumped on the egg roll in a bowl bandwagon and I'm not looking back. It's an easy dinner that's healthy (I replaced the pork with ground turkey and used broccoli slaw) and there's a few different ways you can eat it! We ate it by itself earlier this week but I think next time I want to add lettuce wraps - y'all, so good :)

Two
Another health-food related item, I tried avocado toast for the first time yesterday and I liked it! Honestly, I'm shocked I liked it lol I'm not a huge avocado fan but the 2 I bought this past week were actually ripe when I used them which I'm sure adds to it but it was so delicious! I topped mine with turkey bacon but I think I'd love to add a fried egg as well and eat it like an egg sandwich.

I found this fun graphic on pinterest with different ways to make avocado toast - I can't wait to try more combos. Please share ways you like to eat yours!

Three
I went into Style Encore the other day to sell some clothes and walked out with a new dress. I absolutely adore the button up dresses that are flowy on the bottom and this one fit perfectly! I cannot wait to wear it in Charleston next week :)

I bought it consignment but it still tags that said it was from Marshall's (I found it online at eBay)

Four
I saw two bloggers talk about the new Kristin Ess collection at Target and I'm now intrigued... this beach-hair spray caught my eye and I'd love to know if anyone else has tried it before. With summer on it's way, I'd love to achieve the beach wave look but I'm not sure if my hair thinks the same

Five
I'm excited because tonight, we are celebrating my SIL's birthday! We're hanging out at our old college stomping grounds, getting pizza and hitting the trampoline park. I'm so excited to see them again - it's been since Christmas.

I'm so thankful that not only is Lauren my sister, she is my friend :) Happiest of Birthdays!!

This weekend was a wonderful way to close out the month of February! Friday, we kicked off the fun with a bridal lunch to celebrate my friend, Madison's wedding this weekend!! It was a wonderful way to celebrate her and spoil her with some gifts. We had to laugh because Madison won the "how well do you know the bride" game at my bridal shower and I won it at hers :) After getting home, we went for a quick bike ride before it got dark and then watched another episode of Downton Abbey season 1 before going to bed early.

I monogrammed a shirt with her new monogram as part of her gift

A co-worker brought in homemade cupcakes and I was going to resist until I saw how pretty they were - there's glitter on top!

Saturday, we were up super early so I got to work on Miss Andi's embroidery order and I'm so happy with how the two items came out - that dress is absolutely darling! Thank you for letting me monogram some things for Andi, Jessi!

After finishing up the order, I tested out a new pineapple design and then I got ready to meet some of my friends for a girls day at Disney Springs! We had so much fun walking around, window shopping, eating ice cream, getting pizza's at Blaze and getting to sit down and chat :) It was a great time but man, I was exhausted afterwards - I'm getting too old for my own good lol

Sunday, we headed to church, Publix and then got to work on chores (so much fun...). I was able to squeeze in another embroidery item which I can't wait to show everyone - hopefully in a few weeks! Stephen and I were even able to go on another bike ride before making dinner and watching another episode of Downton Abbey. Stephen went to bed early while I stayed up far too long to get our lunches together and blog but at least I got to watch some of the Oscars.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a great start of March! Linking up with Biana

One
I was scrolling Facebook the other day and came upon this hysterical Buzzfeed article about life as an elementary school student in the 90s and it's 100% spot on!! So funny - can anyone else relate?

Not going to lie, I've been wanting to take another one of those timed multiplication tests - they were so stressful and I'd like to see if they got easier with age

Two
The past few days I've been doing Tone It Up Yoga in the morning after I wake up and I've really been enjoying it! I swore off yoga after a difficult class in high school but since I can't do anything outside as early as I wake up, I decided to give it another try. I'm shocked at how much I like this video (it could just be the video and not really yoga that I like lol) Hopefully, I'll keep up with this and try new videos :)

It's also nice waking up with the ocean view... even if it is on a screen ;)

Three
Today I cashed in my first free pound of chicken salad from winning a pound every month and it was delicious! It didn't look like much but man, there was a lot. Thankfully, it makes making Stephen's lunch easier ;) Next time, I'm going to have to plan it as a lunch with my friends at work so it gets eaten.

Four
If you missed it this week, I shared an easy oven steak recipe on the blog. This would be the perfect meal to make this weekend

Five
I'm excited because this weekend is shaping up to be pretty fun! For lunch today, I'm going to one of my friend's bridal shower lunches with some co-workers and then Saturday we're doing a girls day at Disney Springs. With Stephen working so much on weekends, I'm looking forward to some fun with my friends instead of sitting at home, doing chores and monogramming all day (don't worry, there will still be lots of monogramming ;))
