Weekending

Monday, October 30, 2017

Really, this blog post should be titled "the weekend we binged watched Stranger Things 2". Thankfully, this was our first and last weekend for a while that we didn't have anything big planned which just so happened to be the same weekend Stranger Things 2 came out... and I'm not even going to pretend that we didn't start it Saturday and finished it Sunday after church. I do have to say, it was really good! Stephen and I were both so into it and think it was probably better than season 1 (although I don't remember too much from Season 1).

Outside of our TV watching, we had a fun little date night on Friday night. We hit up the mall for a bunch of things we needed to get - y'all it got real crazy when Stephen suggested we get another PSL on our way into Target ;) So we did what anyone else would do when you get a PSL and it's cool outside, we took some pictures lol! We spent the rest of the night shopping and finished it up with dinner at Longhorn.

Saturday morning, I woke up super early and headed over to Orlando for the breast cancer 5k with some of my co-workers. It was fun and I'm glad we were able to get in some exercise early in the morning. The rest of the day we watched Stranger Things 2, I embroidered a ton and then watched more episodes before going to bed.

Sunday, we went to church, ran a few more small errands, finished up Stranger Things 2 and finished up another embroidery order. Overall, it was a really nice and relaxing weekend!! We are officially booked through the month of November so it's going to be a really busy, but fun month! Linking up with Biana.

Five on Friday

Friday, October 27, 2017

How crazy is it that this is the last Friday in October and we officially have less than 2 months until Christmas!? I honestly can't believe it and even though this is my absolute favorite time of year, I wish it would slow down a little. I'm sure November will go even faster because we're going to be pretty busy but with all fun events :)

One
I have two delicious, colder weather recipes to share with you today. The first one is the black bean, sweet potato and turkey chili recipe that my friend made for our #BasicFallParty. Every time she's made this recipe, it's been a huge hit!! She said she used this recipe and also added in some cooked, ground turkey.

Two
The second recipe is Owen's crockpot quiona Mexican casserole. Thankfully, I had this dish planned before I knew the colder weather was coming so this hit the spot. I've been going through a phase where I'm not a huge fan of Mexican-type food (outside of Tex Mex) but I couldn't get enough of this stuff! This will definitely be on repeat in our house.

Three
I'm sure everyone is saying the same thing but I am legit obsessed with this cooler weather! We have been so excited to have real fall weather the past few days and even though it's supposed to be in the 80's again today, we all loved the weather in Florida while it lasted. Since it was cooler, I busted out my fall clothes for work and even curled my hair ;)

Try to ignore the dusty mirror... cleaned it the 2nd day lol
Sweater (need one of these in every color) / Skirt - last season / Boots (SimilarSimilar) / Purse (Kate Spade Outlet)

Sweater (old) / Button Down / Pants / Shoes (old) / Necklace (on sale!)

Four
I recently found a new, fun podcast which is just in time for Halloween. It's called Deadly Manners and it's a fictional thrilled based on a 1950's murder mystery and is voiced by Hollywood actors. It definitely captures you and at ~30 minutes an episode, it's not too much overload (although I do hate having to wait for the next episodes).

Five
With all of this beautiful weather, we've been coming home after work and going on bike rides through the neighborhood. We love being able to get out and enjoy the weather while getting in some exercise!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I will be utilizing my time by working on all my PPE orders and tomorrow morning I'm doing the breast cancer walk with some co-workers in downtown Orlando.

Baby Sprinkle

Thursday, October 26, 2017

A few weeks ago, my SIL had her baby sprinkle for our sweet nephew who is due to arrive in December. I can hardly believe that we've already celebrated our nephew and he will be here so soon!

Doesn't she look amazing?

The sprinkle was hosted at a delicious and super adorable tea room in downtown Orlando - we had a wonderful time. Thankfully, my parents were in town so my mom was able to attend with me which was special since we usually don't get to go to events like this together :)

Sweet baby boy's Aunts!

Last time I got a picture with my mom and MIL was at my bridal shower over 4 years ago!

It was the perfect sprinkle and we are so excited to have another baby in the family!

#BasicFallParty

Monday, October 23, 2017

During one of our girls nights a few months ago, we were talking about how we were all so excited for fall and wanted to do all the fall things - that's when our first annual #BasicFallParty was created. We decided we would have a day that was filled with everything fall... and being super basic ;)

Saturday, we all met up, loaded up in my mom car and made our first stop at Starbucks for PSL's before heading over to a super cute pumpkin patch nearby.

They had the coolest colored pumpkins there - it took everything in me not to buy a bunch for the front porch

After the pumpkin patch, we headed back to the house for fall drinks, pumpkin snacks, college football then pumpkin carving.

Ignore the gross looking pitcher, I forgot to get a picture of our Autumn Sipper before we drank it all

Let's be real, Stephen ended up carving most of our pumpkin lol

For dinner, our friend brought over her delicious turkey, sweet potato chili and we ate out on the back porch. It was the most beautiful weather we've seen all year and getting to hang out on the back porch chatting all night was the best!

Next year, we'll have to get cleaner on where we poke holes into our design ;)

It was seriously the best fall party and we can't wait to do it again next year!!
