Five on Friday

Holla for another weekend!! I feel like this week went very quickly - how are we in mid-November, Christmas is a few short weeks away and Thanksgiving is officially less than 2 weeks away!?

While in Homegoods one day, Stephen saw a picture that had "family rules" on it. We really liked the message but weren't sold on the painting. I'm so glad we waited because I picked up the cutest "family rules" chalkboard painting from Hobby Lobby last week for only $15 (it was 50% off)!!! I know where I want to hang it up now, so hopefully we can make that happen this weekend.

Two

Last year, I made some pumpkin cookies and they were good, not great. I had 1/2 a can of pumpkin leftover after making the pumpkin dip so I decided to go ahead and make another batch of pumpkin cookies. Oh my goodness, I don't know what happened but this batch was SO good! I can't stop eating them... oops!

Chrisley Knows Best is back on tv!! I caught the first episode but it was a little much - not sure if it was because they packed an entire London trip into 30 min or what. Hopefully it gets better (I'm sure it will ;))

Shelby had a great post this week with some tips on how to organize your Pinterest boards. I've started trying to reorganizing my boards with breaking up some of my outfits and food boards. There's so much more I need to do and Shelby had some fantastic tips! You can follow me on Pinterest here.

I've been seeing some new bloggers around here so I wanted to do another quick no-reply blogger PSA. I love getting your comments and hearing what y'all have to say - I also want to reply to all of you but if you're a "no-reply blogger", it is very difficult and honestly, I'm not even sure if you see my reply's if it's not through email. Thanksgiving Tables

I honestly haven't been on Pinterest in a while, but I just browsed through it and so many people are pinning Christmas pins - I've also noticed a lot of bloggers bringing out their Christmas posts. This makes me so excited for Christmas but I officially allow myself to get in the Christmas spirit the day after Thanksgiving. I've found that if I start getting all excited for Christmas too early, I'm bummed out and kind of over it once it actually gets here.

I also don't want to skip over Thanksgiving - it's almost as if we forget November is still a fall month and Thanksgiving has some adorable decorations that go with it. I always love a beautiful Thanksgiving tablescape and I heard my sister-in-law picked out some cute things for Thanksgiving dinner this year, so I can't wait to see them!

I am obsessed with everything about this picture: the big window, the paneled walls, the chairs, the table, the gingham table runner - I could really go on and on about this setup!

I love the simplicity and beauty of this table. It kind of reminds me of a wedding, granted we had those lanterns at our wedding so that could be it ;)

When I saw this table, I thought of the first Thanksgiving with the Pilgrims and Indians... I think it's the corn. I love the traditional look with all the pumpkins.

I really like this one because it's a little bit different than a "normal" Thanksgiving table with all the reds and apples. The deep colors scream fall and it's almost a nice transition into Christmas decorations with the deep colors and gold.

Weekending

After a quick trip during the week to meet our niece, we were happy to have a weekend at home. Stephen had to get up for work at 4am on Friday after getting in late the night before so we didn't stay up too late on Friday. We enjoyed a delicious pre-made dinner that I picked up from Publix and a few Office episodes before Stephen was out by 9pm.

Saturday, we made a delicious breakfast before heading out to go shopping for some things for the house. I finally tracked down the sofa table I've been wanting for our family room and found the perfect one at World Market. Right now, it's 25% off, which saved me $75. I think the sale runs until sometime this week. I was a little nervous about the color since we now have 4 different colors of wood in our family room if you count the bar stools. I think it works well - I love the length behind the couch but Stephen is a little concerned about the height since it's almost taller than our couch. I'd love to hear what you think about it - keep it or return it?

We also tried to look for some decorations for the table but didn't have any luck. I need to look through some more inspiration pictures and get a feel for what I actually want to put on the table. I got that brown basket to put a blanket inside but the basket is too wide. I definitely want a pretty white hydrangea arrangement for the table but that's hard to find since every store has fall and Christmas decorations now - I might have to hold out for spring. 

We also looked into kitchen tables at Pier 1 because they are having a sale until the end of the month. We really liked this one because it can seat 8 if you use the extensions. We originally wanted to build our own farmhouse table but we're still on the fence. I also like this one but it doesn't have a leaf. 

Saturday night we had a work function about an hour away. Unfortunately, as soon as we got on the interstate, there was a wreck that took us 1 hour to go 3 miles and of course, the wreck was in between exits so there was nothing we could do. We showed up very fashionably late... Even though we were late, we had a great time and enjoyed some great food! We even got to meet my co-workers adorable baby boy. We were definitely in baby heaven this week ;)

Last year, I made Christina's pumpkin dip and everyone loved it so much that I was begged asked to make it again. Once again, everyone raved about how delicious it was! I also made green beans as a side dish.

Sunday, we weren't feeling too great so after church, we enjoyed laying around most of the afternoon. We did get up and do some chores and Stephen grilled out an amazing dinner (once again ;)). I was really hoping for a rainy Sunday but we got that Saturday (of course while running errands) and Sunday was beautiful but hotter than blue blazes! I don't know when Florida's going to get the memo that it's November, but I'm running out of things to wear that aren't too hot but don't scream summer.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We are having serious Siena withdrawals over here - only 15 more days until I get to squeeze those cheeks again!

Siena Grace

I am officially an Aunt to the most amazing little girl in the world! Our niece, Siena Grace, was born on November 3, 2015 and was 8 lbs 14 oz, 20 in long. She is the cutest little baby ever and we could not be more thrilled to be an aunt and uncle.

My sister-in-law was supposed to be induced on Wednesday of this week and ended up being induced Monday evening. She was born on Tuesday and after a very long day at work, we rushed down to meet her and give my brother and sister-in-law a big hug! Lauren was amazing and a total rockstar when it came to the delivery. We loved every minute being there and gobbled up those baby snuggles.

Pumpkin Time

With fall coming to a close in a few weeks, it's time to get those last few pumpkin recipes in before those Christmas recipes take over. I've got 2 cans of pumpkin left so I need to decide what to make within the next few weeks.

Halloween Weekend

Happy November!! I am SO excited for this month - our niece is going to be born this week, we'll be heading up so Tallahassee for our annual FSU visit in a few weeks, we're spending Thanksgiving with my in-laws (and new baby!!) and then it's time for Christmas! I am so ready for the holidays :)

This weekend was spent relaxing and getting some things checked off my to-do list. Stephen ended up having to work Saturday so it was pretty low key. Friday we were exhausted so we took a nice walk around the neighborhood and then I dug into one of my Will & Kate books (it's very interesting - I'll post about it once I'm done) while Stephen got some work done.

Saturday, Stephen headed to work while I slept in and then did a little shopping. He did make the comment that he worked and I just went and spent the money - it happens ;) I ran to Hobby Lobby to get some things for a few projects and I was hoping to find some good fall decor on super sale. Guess Hobby Lobby doesn't do blow out fall sales like other stores do because it was the standard 40% off - I didn't end up getting anything :/ I did find a cute fall wreath on sale at Homegoods so I'll call that a win since that was one fall thing I didn't have.

I finished up the afternoon with some reading, football watching and completing my first project - re-doing my bulletin board. I've had this bulletin board since freshman year of college and have been wanting to re-do it for a while. I got a yard of fabric from Hobby Lobby and about 100 brass tacks from Lowes and went to work. I'm really excited with how it turned out but I'm still unsure about which way I want to hang it up... I'll keep you updated! I really underestimated how hard it is to put those tacks in - keeping them straight is such a task and my thumb is killing me but I'm really happe with how it turned out.

Saturday night, we hung out outside and had a blast handing out candy to trick-or-treaters. This was our first Halloween owning a house and thus, handing out candy. I felt like such a creep sitting in the driveway, waiting for kids to arrive but once they started coming, it was a lot better than having to open the doors a million times. After we ran out of candy, we walked around the neighborhood to see the other houses - some people had LEGIT scary houses. I am not kidding you when I say they were super scary. Can't wait to talk around and see Christmas lights in a month!

I have to say, I was super lame and was too lazy to dress up. Stephen wore his NASA jacket and went as an astronaut. There were so many adults that dressed up so we decided that we will definitely join in on the fun next year! I did grab an old textbook and call myself a college student lol

Sunday we went to lunch with some friends after church and decided to relax for a little before doing our chores and working in the yard. I am so thankful that we have a yard but I am not thankful for weeds... can I get an amen? ;)

We are so ready for this exciting week ahead and can't wait for our niece to be born (I know my SIL is dying for her to get here since she's past her due date already). Hope y'all have a great week!
