Five on Friday

One
Stephen recently found out he was selected to represent his company at a conference in NYC in a few weeks! I've always wanted to go to NYC so we figured this would be the best time for me to go since most of his stuff is paid for. We are so excited to see the city but we really need recommendations as to what to do. We would like to see as much as we can while we're there - looks like it'll be about 5 days but for 2 of them, Stephen will be at the conference.

Here's what we have so far: Central Park, New World Trade Center, Empire State Building, going up on The Rock, Times Square, China Town, Little Italy and possibly catching a Broadway show (if we can get tickets cheap). We'd love any suggestions or recommendations y'all have!

Stephen surprised me with a Fitbit Blaze yesterday! I read Caitlin's review of the blaze and then saw Kelsey talk about how much she loved hers so it sparked my interest. Now that I'm super motivated to workout and get into shape, the thought of a smart watch was interesting to me. I didn't want a fitbit that didn't have a big screen and act as a normal watch and seeing the chunkiness of the blaze always turned me off to it - until, I found out that you could change out the band! Once I found that out, I was definitely more interested and did a ton of research into the watch. (Side note: I don't have an iPhone so I couldn't get an Apple Watch - plus it's too expensive)
Once I settled on the watch, I told Stephen and he was so sweet and got me one! Now, I'm looking into different bands. We just ordered one like this and I think I'm going to ask for this one and this one for my birthday.

We are so excited because Stephen has off this weekend (it was looking like he was going to have to work the weekend for most of the week) which means we're finally going back to Disney!!!! We are so excited to go back and we may or may not be taking pictures for some new Premium Pineapple items ;)

Speaking of Premium Pineapple, we had our first giveaway this week and I'm so thrilled with everyone who participated! Thank you so much for your support :)

Four
Sperry recently released their new line of sneakers and I have to say, I'm very interested. Stephen and I love Sperry's; heck, we met because of Sperry's! I wasn't sure about their new sneaker line but after seeing them, I really like them! I'm thinking of asking for a pair for my birthday for theme parks or anytime I want comfy shoes without going full sneaker.

I finally started recapping our Charleston trip this week! Check our our Day 1 and Day 2. I'm hoping to have our final day with a roundup and an outfit post up next week :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'm looking forward to finishing up an order tonight then be free as a bird this weekend :)

Charleston: Day 2

Thursday, March 23, 2017

Welcome back to my recap of our recent trip to Charleston, SC! You can catch up on our first day here.

Friday, we had the wedding rehearsal at 11:30 am so we decided to run into town to get breakfast at Callie's Little Hot Biscuit which was simply amazing! We got there around 9 am - there was no one downtown and the line was pretty small. Oh my goodness, the biscuits were SO delicious but there was minimal seating inside and we couldn't find a place outside. We stood in front of a store and tried to eat them standing up while Stephen took a work call - quite a sight. (If you know of a good seating area, please let me know because I'm sure we'll be coming back to Callie's next time we're in Charleston)

Once we finished breakfast, we headed over to the wedding venue for the rehearsal. Afterwards, we were on our own until later that evening for the rehearsal dinner. I've been dying to see the pineapple fountain so that was our first stop for the day. We had a great time walking around Charleston waterfront, taking pictures and seeing the famous pineapple fountain. This was the day I wore my new button down dress - I loved it and got so many compliments but the wind that day was awful and kept blowing up my dress... not ideal. Stephen loves taking pictures with my new camera and took all of the following photos. It was so sweet, he kept wanting to take pictures of me around town so I'm going to save those for a separate post to showcase the dress and ensure this one isn't a million pictures long.

After the pineapple fountain, we grabbed lunch at nearby Magnolia's which was super delicious! Then we headed out to explore the fabulous neighborhoods in downtown Charleston. We walked all around and saw the most beautiful houses - we even made it down to Battery Park. We were exhausted after and headed back to the hotel before the rehearsal dinner.

The bride and groom held the rehearsal dinner at their apartment complex's clubhouse which worked out really well! They catered food for the relatives and wedding party and then a hour later, their out of town friends came in and was able to hang out. They wanted to do this so they could spend quality time with those who were out of town instead of just saying a few words to them at the wedding.

Stephen said a few words about the bride and groom during the "open speech" time

The groom got the groomsmen these neat, customized grilling kits

Come back next week for my final two posts about Charleston :) Linking up with Annie.

Charleston: Day 1

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

I am so excited to finally share with you our recent trip to Charleston! Since we have to many pictures I'm going to share them in different posts - I will give an overview of where we stayed and where we ate at the end of the final post.

Charleston is seriously my favorite city ever - I would love to live there one day. Thankfully, Stephen's best friend lives there so we were super excited when he was getting married there. Ultimately, this trip was for his wedding but we were able to squeeze in a lot of sightseeing.

Thursday, we were on the road by 6 am so we could make it into town for Stephen to have lunch with his friends and go hang out with them for the day. Like I shared on Friday, our first stop was Rainbow Row and immediately after parking, we saw and met Julia and Thomas! Talk about a great way to start a trip ;) After getting over that excitement, we checked out Rainbow Row before Stephen ran off with his friends to tour the USS Yorktown and I was on my own. I continued to walk around the streets near rainbow row before heading over to the Charleston City Market and King Street. I was glad I did King Street without Stephen because I could take my time and browse through all of the fun stores. I was able to find 2 cute shirts from H&M and a Vineyard Vines jacket for cheap :)

The bride was so sweet and asked me to join them to get their nails done! It was perfect because the salon was on King Street so I was able to finish up my shopping and walk over to the salon. I had a great time getting to know the bride, her sisters, mom and mother-in-law.

Super creep but since I didn't ask for a picture with Julia, there they are in the bottom left. I promise we didn't take this picture to get them in it

Later that night, I met back up with Stephen and we headed back downtown to eat dinner at Hominy. This is my favorite restaurant in Charleston because of their delicious southern food. We weren't too hungry so we split their veggie plate which was perfect for the two of us.

Their cheese grits are literally the best!
