Five on Friday

One
Last night we attended a local minor league baseball game after work! Stephen's company has season tickets that they raffle off and we got a pair! It was so much fun and we can't wait to go back - it wasn't crowded, the weather was amazing and it was such a fun, family environment. I was worried we weren't going to get to go due to weather but thankfully, it held out until the bottom of the 9th when the game was tied. I see lots more games in our future...

Two
I made Jenn's Parm Herb Crusted Salmon earlier this and it was amazing! I awful at cooking fish on the skillet so I figured I'd give her oven recipe a try before writing fish off forever. It turned out so well and Stephen loved it too! I served it with lemon roasted broccoli and pearled couscous and Stephen requested it to be made with these exact sides next time lol

Three
Stephen decided he wanted to wear a bow tie to the gala we went to last weekend to look a little more dressed up. I certainly didn't hesitate to agree and helped him pick out a formal bow tie at Nordstrom Rack (did you know they have amazing designer ties for cheap there!? He got some Michael Kors ties for $17 each!!). It took a few tries to figure out how to tie it but once he figured it out, there was no stopping him!! He claims that bow ties are way easier to tie than regular ties and he really likes wearing them which means, I have free reign to buy him all the cute, southern bow ties!! Anyways, the reason I'm saying all of this is because Southern Weddings recently released a line of bow ties and produced a how to tie a bow tie video this week. So if your man is considering a bow tie, send him this video and get to tying!!

Four
I am excited because I'm finally getting my hair cut after 6 months... Usually every 2 months or so my hair gets way too thick and unmanageable, which is my sign it's time for a haircut. I hadn't noticed it getting too thick until lately and it's like I can't do anything with it - so I'm off to the salon to get it under control. I like that it's a little longer so I'll probably keep it the same length, just add some more layers, get the ends cut off and get it thinned. So ready for it to feel lighter.

Five
I'm sure a lot of y'all follow Julia over at Gal Meets Glam. Recently she's been recapping their Italian and England adventures and this week she's been talking about the English Countryside. I am loving her English Countryside posts which is giving me travel fever. Everything is so charming and beautiful - reminds me of Pride and Prejudice. If only blogging was my job...

This weekend is going to be pretty low key. Stephen has a constant growing to-do list so I know he's ready to get things checked off which means I'll probably be embroidering things and watching Gossip Girl lol Today we actually have eye appointments which I'm kind of looking forward to because I haven't had an official eye doctor visit in like 15 years (so bad, I know). I've started to notice it feels like my eye sight isn't as good as it once was so I'm interested to see what my results will be.
